Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake.

Bulletin details

At 110 AM MST, a wall of dust was along a line extending from East Mesa to near Superstition Springs Mall to Freestone Park to near South Phoenix to 8 miles northwest of Estrella Sailport, moving northwest at 35 mph. HAZARD...Less than two miles visibility with strong wind in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. This includes the following highways... AZ Interstate 10 between mile markers 136 and 173. AZ Interstate 17 between mile markers 195 and 203. AZ Route 51 between mile markers 1 and 3. Locations impacted include... Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Avondale, Apache Junction, Paradise Valley, Tolleson, Sun Lakes, Laveen, East Mesa, Cashion, Queen Creek, and Tempe Marketplace.
