Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The highest heat index values will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM today. This is the third consecutive day of unusually hot conditions. As such, impacts will remain higher despite the slightly lower temperatures and heat index values.
Instructions
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
