Be sure you're signed up for your county's emergency alert system. Familiarize yourself with your emergency plan and make sure you listen to emergency services. Visit ready.gov/plan for more information. A Red Flag Warning is issued when we identify weather conditions that promote rapid spread of fire which may become life- threatening. This does not mean there is a fire. These conditions are either occurring now or will begin soon. It is important to have multiple ways to receive information from authorities.

...Critical fire weather conditions continue through the weekend... .Hot, dry and windy conditions will peak this afternoon and Saturday east of the Cascades and potions of northern California. Humidities nudge higher on Sunday, although winds and low rhs may still meet red flag criteria. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. * AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire weather zone 624 covering the Klamath Basin and Fremont-Winema National Forest. In California, fire weather zone 285 covering Modoc County except for Surprise Valley. The areas of concern shrink southern portions of fwz 624 Sunday. * WINDS...Southwest to west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph Friday and Saturday and 35 mph Sunday. * MINIMUM HUMIDITY...5 to 15 percent. Humidities rise slightly onSunday. * DURATION...3 to 8 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening. * DETAILED URL...View the hazard area in detail at https://weather.gov/wrh/hazards?wfo=mfr * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The fire weather threat will decrease overnight with increasing humidities and lighter winds.
