Bulletin details

At 525 PM MST /625 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain earlier over southwest Utah including the Paria River and Buckskin Gulch resulted in between 0.50 and 1.00 inches of rainfall. A river gage along the Paria River just north of the Arizona/Utah border indicated a 2 foot rise. In addition, flow from Buckskin Gulch will contribute to flash flooding along the Paria River. As a Result, flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Paria River. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Paria River. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Paria Canyon, Paria River Slot Canyon, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and Lees Ferry. This includes the Colorado River near mile marker 0. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Lees Ferry Camp Site. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Colorado River and Paria River.
