What is happening

At 1051 AM MST, local law enforcement reported cars stuck along Brawley Wash earlier this morning. Gauge readings at Three Points and Milewide Rd are both decreasing, but flash flooding along the wash is still a threat. This is runoff from last night's thunderstorms and flash flooding is already occurring....

What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

At 1051 AM MST, local law enforcement reported cars stuck along Brawley Wash earlier this morning. Gauge readings at Three Points and Milewide Rd are both decreasing, but flash flooding along the wash is still a threat. This is runoff from last night's thunderstorms and flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Runoff from thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported and stream gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Roads and structures immediately near Brawley Wash may be at risk of flooding. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Three Points and Picture Rocks. This includes Route 86 between mile markers 149 and 150. This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Manville Rd at Brawley Wash. This includes the following streams and drainages... Brawley Wash, Blanco Wash and Robles Wash, Los.
