Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

At 913 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sahuarita, Green Valley, Arivaca, Amado and Arivaca Junction. This includes Interstate 19 between mile markers 25 and 43. This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Arivaca Rd from Arivaca Junction & HWY 286. This includes the following streams and drainages... Guijas Wash, Las, Cedar Creek, Banner Wash, Papalote Wash, Bolas Blancas Wash, Box Canyon Wash, Champurrado Wash, Seco, Arroyo, Yellow Jacket Wash, Demetrie Wash, Brawley Wash, Arivaca Creek, Saucito Wash, Altar Wash, Santa Cruz River, Peitas Wash, Cerro Prieto Wash, Fraguita Wash, Old Junction Wash, San Luis Wash, Sopori Wash and Puertocito Wash.
