Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other low lying areas.

At 411 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing flash flooding and a car stranded in water 1 mile west of Byers. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches, roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Byers and Strasburg. This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 307 and 319. This includes the following streams and drainages... Mule Creek, Muddy Creek, Little Comanche Creek, Comanche Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, Bijou Creek, Sherman Ranch Slough, Little Antelope Creek, Wolf Creek, East Bijou Creek, Antelope Creek and West Bijou Creek.
