What the bulletin says to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.

At 324 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms had ended across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches, roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Elizabeth, Franktown, Ponderosa Park and Castlewood Canyon. This includes the following streams and drainages... Cherry Creek south of Franktown, Coal Creek, Willow Creek, East Cherry Creek, Running Creek, Lake Gulch, Bayou Gulch, East Plum Creek and Gold Creek.
