At 557 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Northwest side of Colorado Springs. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding will continue until the water has a chance to recede. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Western Colorado Springs. This includes the following streams and drainages... Monument Creek, South Douglas Creek including Mountain Shadows, Holland Park, and east to Monument Creek, Dry Creek including Peregrine and Rockrimmon subdivisions, West Monument Creek including extreme southern Air Force Academy, North Douglas Creek including Oak Valley, and subdivisions to Monument Creek.
