This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and ditches in the Northwest area of the Ferris Fire Scar Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Southwestern Mesa County in west central Colorado... * Until 1000 PM MDT. * At 725 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported that heavy rain over the northwest side of the Turner Gulch Fire Scar Burn Scar produced mud and rock flows over Hwy-141 about 4 miles north of Gateway, mile marker 115. Between 0.8 and 1.5 inches of rain fell over the area. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar has resulted in debris flow moving through the West Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the northwest side of the Turner Gulch Fire Scar Burn Scar. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
