At 442 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in intersection of Wheeler Rd and Highland in Augusta . Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen, with little additional rainfall expected. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... North Augusta, Evans, Belvedere, Augusta, Martinez, Clearwater, Augusta National Golf Club, Summerville, Midtown, Daniel Field, Glendale, Village at Riverwatch Shopping Center, Savannah Bluffs Heritage Preserve, Eisenhower Park, Savannah Rapids Park, Poverty Hill, Westover Memorial Park and West End Augusta. This includes the following highways... Interstate 520 in South Carolina between mile markers 18 and 23. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 0 and 6.
