At 357 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain causing flood waters and debris to cover Gateway Road near Grovetown, GA. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Grovetown, Evans, Fort Gordon, Martinez, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Augusta Mall, Riverwood, South Augusta, Daniel Field, Columbia County Exhibition Center, Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Westmont, Blanchard Park, Liberty Park Community Center, Windy Ridge Estates, Evans Medical Center, Patriots Park, Evans Towne Center Park and Blanchard Woods Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 182 and 200. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 7.
