FFWHFO The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County * Until 100 PM HST. * At 1013 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain bands from Hurricane Lala are moving onshore across windward and southeast Big Island. Additional heavy rain bands are anticipated over the next few hours, especially across the Kau and Puna Districts. Radar estimates that rain is falling at a rate of 1 to 2.5 inches per hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
