Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

At 232 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen, with the highest amounts near Gibson City to Paxton. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Significant flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding. Possible flooding of structures, including basements. Possible flooding of highways. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Paxton, Gibson City, Cissna Park, Buckley, Melvin, Loda, Roberts, Elliott, Sibley, Clarence and Claytonville.
