Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Central McLean County in central Illinois... * Until 1100 AM CDT. * At 736 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated between 4 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen overnight. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bloomington, Normal, Downs and Central Illinois Regional Airport. This includes the following highways... Interstate 39 between mile markers 0 and 1. Interstate 74 between mile markers 125 and 140. Interstate 55 between mile markers 155 and 166.
