Bulletin details

At 121 PM EDT /1221 PM CDT/, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain from Royal Center to near Grissom Air Reserve Base. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marion, Logansport, Peru, Wabash, Bluffton, Portland, Hartford City, Rochester, Gas City, Upland, Knox, Fairmount, Winamac, Dunkirk, Grissom Afb, Albany, Montpelier, North Judson, Jonesboro and Culver. The heaviest rainfall will be ending over the warning area through 3 pm EDT, but runoff will continue to pose a threat of flash flooding.
