Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. To report flash flooding, go to our website at weather.gov/iln and submit your report via social media, when you can do so safely.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHEASTERN FAYETTE, UNION AND WAYNE COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL INDIANA... At 1032 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in Numerous flooded roads across the warned area, with up to 5 feet of water in Cambridge City. Between 3.5 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are possible. FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Cambridge City, Brownsville and Dunlapsville Indiana. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Richmond, Centerville, Liberty, Hagerstown, Fountain City, Franklin, Salem, Abington, Brownsville, Greens Fork, Spring Grove, Economy, Philomath, Interstate 70 at Exit 145, Clifton, Jacksonburg, Springersville, Williamsburg, Whitewater State Park and Alquina.
