Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Northeastern Middlesex County in northern New Jersey... * Until 1000 PM EDT. * At 549 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. * Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Edison, Middlesex, Colonia, Woodbridge, South Plainfield, Metuchen, Dunellen, Iselin, Fords, Avenel, Sewaren and Port Reading. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 11 and 13. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 7. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 129 and 134.
