Bulletin details

At 603 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a nearly stationary area of thunderstorms over North Charleston. As much as 2 to 3 inches of rain have fallen in some areas. An additional 2 to 3 inches could fall through 715 PM, resulting significant urban and flash flooding. At 547 PM, emergency management officials reported Greenridge Road at St. Ives Road was flooded in North Charleston with a stalled car. Other roadways are likely flooded in parts of the warning area. The degree of flash flooding may worsen through 7 PM as additional thunderstorms with torrential rainfall move through the area. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, I-26/I-526 Interchange, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Ladson, Daniel Island, Charleston Airport and Magnolia Gardens. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 206 and 214. I-526 between mile markers 18 and 21.
