Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

At 357 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across portions of the San Rafael Swell, including Little Wildhorse, Chute, Crack, Ding, and Dang Canyons. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Portions of the San Rafael Swell, including Little Wildhorse, Chute, Crack, Ding, and Dang Canyons. As storms move further east, this will also include other canyons such as Iron Wash, Farnsworth Canyon, Ernie Canyon, Zero G Canyon, and Eardley Canyon.
