At 731 PM MDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Birch Creek and the main stem of the Escalante River. Flash flooding is already occurring with the river running high and hitting the bottom of the bridge on 300 east just north of Escalante. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of the Escalante River. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... The Escalante River from near the town of Escalante to the terminus at Lake Powell.
