Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Bulletin details

At 735 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated earlier thunderstorms produced heavy rain across Dry Rock Creek and lower portions of Hole in the Rock Road down to Lake Powell, including Headless Hen Canyon, Coyote Gulch, Forty Mile Gulch, Fifty Mile Gulch, and Davis Gulch. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Dry Rock Creek and lower portions of Hole in the Rock Road down to Lake Powell, including Headless Hen Canyon, Coyote Gulch, Forty Mile Gulch, Fifty Mile Gulch, and Davis Gulch.
