It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 500 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 203 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Babocomari River, San Pedro River and Slaughter House Wash. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sierra Vista, Hereford, Fort Huachuca, Ramsey Canyon Preserve and Coronado National Memorial. This includes Route 92 between mile markers 326 and 335. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
