Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Gila County in east central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 645 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 340 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Payson, Star Valley, Mesa Del Caballo, East Verde Estates, Water Wheel Falls, Ellison Creek Cascades, Freedom Acres, Payson Airport, Flowing Springs, Beaver Valley Estates, Fort McDonald, Wonder Valley and Payson Rodeo Grounds. This includes the following highways... State Route 260 between mile markers 252 and 260. State Route 87 southbound between mile markers 250 and 251. State Route 87 between mile markers 250 and 259. This includes the following recreation areas andcampgrounds... Houston Mesa Campground, Rumsey Park and Green Valley Park. Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff.
