Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Southeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 530 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 407 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain fell due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.8 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Little Thomas Wash, Puertocito Wash, Champurrado Wash, Thomas Canyon Wash, Bolas Blancas Wash, Altar Wash, Sopori Wash, Seco, Arroyo, Guijas Wash, Las, Arivaca Creek and Peitas Wash. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Southeastern Pima County north of Arivaca and along and north of Arivaca Rd. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
