Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Chino Valley in Yavapai County in west central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 700 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. Water flowing over roadways will create slick roads and muddy unpaved roads. Ponding of water on highways and in urban areas will create hazardous travel conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 512 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain had ended over the Chino Valley Area. However, minor flooding remains a threat from earlier heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Big Chino Wash, Little Chino Valley, Granite Creek, Williamson Valley Wash, Dillon Wash, Mint Wash, Cooper Wash, Verde River, Bottleneck Wash and Butte Wash. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chino Valley, Williamson Valley, and Paulden. This includes State Route 89 between mile markers 320 and 336.
