What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Recent burn areas are more prone to flooding, debris flows, and rock falls. Plugged culverts, rocks and debris on roads, and water and mud over roads are common during moderate to heavy rains. Increased sediment and debris can lead to impacts in areas typically not prone to flooding. Use extra caution when traveling in or below recent burn areas. Impactful flooding and debris flows may be generated by 15 minutes or less of heavy rainfall.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Nevada County in northern California... Sierra County in northern California... * WHEN...Until 645 PM PDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 512 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.4 inches of rain have fallen. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Boca Reservoir and Floriston. I-80 near the Floriston Fire Burn Scar. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
