What the bulletin says to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern Clear Creek County in central Colorado... Southeastern Gilpin County in central Colorado... * WHEN...Until 400 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 102 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Soda Creek, Ralston Creek, Lake Fork, Clear Creek, North Clear Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Little Bear Creek, Chicago Creek, Silver Creek, Barbour Fork, Fall River, Vance Creek, Missouri Creek and South Chicago Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Idaho Springs, Central City, Black Hawk, Aspen Springs and Russell Gulch.
