What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other low lying areas.

* WHAT...Flooding due to excessive rainfall will persist over the next several hours after 3 to 5 inches of rainfall was observed this evening. * WHERE...Central Elbert County in east central Colorado... * WHEN...Until 300 AM MDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas will continue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 853 PM MDT, Between 3 to 5 inches of heavy rainfall fell this evening. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to persist in the advisory area for the next several hours. This includes the following streams and drainages... Comanche Creek, Hay Gulch, Spring Branch, Wilson Creek, East Bijou Creek, Antelope Creek, West Bijou Creek and Middle Bijou Creek. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Central Elbert County.
