Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. This area is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Debris from mudslide and flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern San Miguel County along Highway 145 between Sawpit and Placerville... * WHEN...Until 730 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Water and debris flows over along Highway 145 between Sawpit and Placerville or expected to begin shortly. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 523 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in Highway 145 near Sawpit and Placerville. Between 0.1 and 0.2 inches of rain have fallen. Highway 145 near Sawpit and Placerville is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include...
