* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southern Connecticut, including the following counties, Middlesex and New London. * WHEN...Until 1130 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 825 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jewett City, Norwich, New London, Colchester, Clinton, Groton, Old Saybrook, Salem, Chester, Mystic, Waterford, East Lyme, Ledyard, Griswold, East Haddam, Old Lyme, Lebanon, Westbrook, Killingworth and Preston. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
