Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northern Martin County in east central Florida... Eastern St. Lucie County in east central Florida... * WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 328 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen on already saturated ground. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Port Saint Lucie, Walton, Fort Pierce, Stuart, White City, Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plant, Fort Pierce Inlet, Jensen Beach, Indrio, Sewall's Point, Indian River Estates, Port Saint Lucie River Park, Fort Pierce South, Saint Lucie West, Fort Pierce North, Nettles Island, Saint Lucie Airport, Saint Lucie Village and Tradition. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
