* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Lower Keys in Monroe in Florida... * WHEN...Until 900 AM EST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 810 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Key West, Big Coppitt Key, Boca Chica, Boca Chica Channel Bridge, Shark Key, Geiger Key, Saddlebunch Keys, Bay Point, Key Haven and Sugarloaf Key. This includes US 1 between mile markers 0 and 8. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
