* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Chatham County in southeastern Georgia... * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Several rain gauges across coastal Chatham County indicate that 1 to 3 inches of rain has fallen over the last 60 to 90 minutes. This intense rainfall could produce at least some minor flooding across portions of Skidaway Island, Wilmington Island, and Tybee Island. The coverage of heavy rainfall is expected to increase across Tybee Island over the next hour. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tybee Island, Wilmington Island, Fort Pulaski National Monument, Montgomery, Wassaw Island, Skidaway Island, Isle Of Hope, Whitemarsh Island, Wilmington and Wilmington Park.
