* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected and previously saturated soils from Saturday's rainfall. * WHERE...East Central Columbia County in east central Georgia... North Central Richmond County in east central Georgia... * WHEN...Until 545 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 239 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Evans, Martinez, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Augusta Mall, Daniel Field, Augusta National Golf Club, Summerville, Glendale, Midtown, Windy Ridge Estates, Waverly, Westwick, Westmont, Evans Medical Center, Blanchard Park, Forest Hills, Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Evans Towne Center Park and Westport. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 191 and 201. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 5. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
