* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...East Central Columbia County in east central Georgia... North Central Richmond County in east central Georgia... * WHEN...Until 415 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 212 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Evans, Martinez, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Augusta Mall, Daniel Field, Augusta National Golf Club, Summerville, Midtown, Waverly, Westwick, Forest Hills, Windy Ridge Estates, Westover Memorial Park, Westport, Village at Riverwatch Shopping Center, Savannah Rapids Park, Eisenhower Park and Westmont. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 193 and 201. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 3. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
