* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Columbia County in east central Georgia... Northwestern Richmond County in east central Georgia... * WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 809 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grovetown, Evans, Martinez, Fort Gordon, Riverwood, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Augusta Mall, Daniel Field, Augusta National Golf Club, Summerville, Blanchard Park, Westmont, Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Columbia County Exhibition Center, Evans Medical Center, Blanchard Woods Park, Evans Towne Center Park, Woodbridge and Windy Ridge Estates. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 184 and 201. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 3. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
