What the bulletin says to do

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Report any flooding directly to the Columbia National Weather Service when it is safe to do so. You can send reports by Facebook or X to NWSColumbia or by e-mail at [email protected].

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Central Richmond County in east central Georgia... * WHEN...Until 530 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 421 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fort Gordon, Hephzibah, South Augusta, Blythe, Diamond Lakes Regional Park, Bath-Edie, Glenn Hills, Miles Park, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Richmond County Recreation Center, Kendan Park and Westover. This includes Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 4 and 10. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
