* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern Richmond County in east central Georgia... West Central Aiken County in central South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 505 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Augusta, Augusta, Clearwater, Belvedere, Midtown, Glendale, Summerville, Augusta National Golf Club, Daniel Field, Augusta Mall, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Burnettown, May Park, Springfield Village Park, Riverside Village at Hammond's Ferry, Medical District Augusta, Kroc Center, West End Augusta and Harrisburg. This includes the following highways... Interstate 520 in South Carolina between mile markers 16 and 23. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 0 and 7. Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 195 and 201. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 15. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
