What the bulletin says to do
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don't drown. A Flood Watch is also in effect until 6 PM HST.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Maui Island in Maui County... * WHEN...Until 815 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 511 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over northwest Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Honokohau, Kapalua, Kahakuloa, Napili-Honokowai, Waihee, Kaanapali, Waiehu and Honolua Bay.
