* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County... * WHEN...Until 500 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 142 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain bands moving into Maui from the south. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour with the heaviest rain across the south and southeast slopes of Haleakala. Additional heavy showers are expected over the next few hours. Local streams are steadily rising, especially the Oheo Gulch near Kipahulu. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Kula, Pukalani, Makawao, Haliimaile, Keokea, Paia, Puunene, Haiku-Pauwela and Pauwela.
