What the bulletin says to do

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Lingering flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...East Central Cook County in northeastern Illinois... Southern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Northern Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. High water may recede slowly from flooded areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 507 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain fell across the advisory area earlier today. Lingering, localized minor flooding is ongoing in some parts of the advisory area. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Cicero, Bolingbrook, Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Romeoville, Plainfield, Woodridge, Oswego, Midway Airport, Austin, South Lawndale and Chicago Lawn. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
