What the bulletin says to do
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Ford County in east central Illinois... Southern Iroquois County in east central Illinois... * WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1206 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paxton, Gibson City, Cissna Park, Buckley, Stockland, Melvin, Loda, Roberts, Elliott, Sibley, Wellington, Clarence and Claytonville. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
