While the heavy rain has mostly ended, heavy rainfall this morning coupled with an additional 1 to 3 inches from this afternoon will keep creeks and streams elevated. Low-water crossings and poor drainage areas may continue to see flooding for the next couple of hours as the water continues to recede. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern Indiana, including the following counties, Blackford, Grant, Jay and Wells. * WHEN...Until 445 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 243 PM EDT, Although the heavy rain has ended, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in the last 3 hours on top of the heavy rain that occurred this morning. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marion, Portland, Hartford City, Gas City, Upland, Fairmount, Dunkirk, Albany, Montpelier, Jonesboro, Redkey, Sweetser, Swayzee, Van Buren, Pennville, Matthews, Westchester, Center, Sims and Converse. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
