* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northeastern Lake IN County in northwestern Indiana... Northwestern Porter County in northwestern Indiana... * WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 605 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over the past 1 to 2 hours. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain fell in as little as 1 hour. The thunderstorms have ended, with little to no additional rain expected over the next couple hours. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gary, Portage, Hobart, Chesterton, Lake Station, South Haven, Porter, New Chicago, Burns Harbor, Ogden Dunes, Beverly Shores and Dune Acres. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
