...The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in Kansas... Sappa Creek At Oberlin 1sw affecting Decatur County. .Rainfall over the past several days has lead to river rises. Sappa Creek at Oberlin did fall below flood stage this morning, but may return to flooding with additional rainfall tonight. Please report any river flooding to the National Weather Service. For the Sappa Creek...including Norcatur 15ne, Oberlin 1sw... elevated river levels are forecast.

At 11.0 feet, Water spreads over agricultural fields and low lying areas with actual water depth in creek at about 6 feet. At 15.0 feet, Moderate flooding will occur in nearby agricultural fields and low lying areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

At 7:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.0 feet. Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. Forecast...The river may rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 15.4 feet early Friday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening. Action stage is 9.0 feet. Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
