Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE
Portions of northeast and southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In southeast Kentucky, Floyd and Pike.
WHEN
Until 1215 AM EDT.
IMPACTS
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
At 908 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain may result in flash flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Prestonsburg, Allen, Endicott, Dicks Creek, Pleasant, Corn Fork Hollow, McCombs, Odds, Alvin, Emma, Lancer, Nero, Dwale, Auxier, Moree, Bays Branch, Beaver Junction, Prince, Van Lear and Cliff.
