What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. Impacts: Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Where: A portion of North Mississippi, including the following counties, Pontotoc and Union. When: Until 745 PM CDT.

What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of North Mississippi, including the following counties, Pontotoc and Union. * WHEN...Until 745 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 600 PM CDT, The public reported flooding in New Albany. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in New Albany. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. New Albany is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... New Albany, Pontotoc, Trace State Park, Ecru, New Harmony, Furrs, Keownville, Troy, Randolph, Sherman, Thaxton, Algoma, Myrtle, Blue Springs, Cherry Creek, Ingomar, Hortontown, Nixon, Wallerville and Bald Hill. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
