What the bulletin says to do
Be aware of your surroundings, especially now that it is becoming dark, and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Caldwell. * WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 731 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has exited the area, leaving only light shower activity. However, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area due to between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain that fell earlier this evening over a short period of time. Small creek and poor drainage areas may be particularly affected. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lenoir, Gamewell, Cedar Rock and Patterson. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
