* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Cherokee County in southwestern North Carolina... Southeastern Polk County in east Tennessee... * WHEN...Until 230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1124 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen over the last few hours, especially near the Georgia state line. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area over the next hour. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ducktown, Turtletown, William L. Davenport Refuge, Copperhill and Hot House. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
